Free education in Kenya isn't entirely free. Tuition is free, but as in other places, there are many other costs associated with school that aren't covered. These include books, school uniforms, bus fares, and food and accommodation costs for those students who live far away from their schools and need to board there. more...

Judy Martin is an Emmy award-winning journalist more than 20 years in broadcast news specializing in social issues, business and work life culture. A former NYC Correspondent for the Marketplace Morning Report, she now contributes to National Public Radio, CNBC Business Radio, The World Vision Report and News 12 TV Networks in New York.

Hailing from New Zealand, James Addison works as senior editor for World Vision Magazine, a publication of World Vision in the U.S.
He is currently on scene in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, covering the effects of the massive January 12 earthquake for World Vision, and relief efforts.
Amelia De Sousa is a journalist based in Haiti. After winning a Fulbright Fellowship to Haiti in 2003 to study mass media and HIV prevention, Amelia started an independent film company to create educational materials for grassroots organizations working in social change. When the government collapsed a year later, Amelia started freelance radio reporting for major broadcasters like National Public Radio, the BBC, and CNN. She has been happy to report for World Vision Report since January of 2006. 
Jared Ferrie is a freelance journalist and correspondent for The National Newspaper. He was born in Vancouver where he worked as a daily reporter for print and radio, but after reading one too many books written by foreign correspondents he decided to move overseas. Jared has reported from countries in West Africa and Southeast Asia, as well as Afghanistan and rebel-held territory in Sri Lanka. He currently lives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Prue Clarke is an independent reporter specializing in Africa. She has exposed child slavery, corruption in foreign mining operations and a burgeoning child sex industry. Her reporting has won numerous awards in the United States and Canada.
Prue was previously a reporter with the Financial Times newspaper and the ABC.
