Dr. Laura Stachel, an obstetrician from California, understands the need for technology in developing countries. Each year, more than half a million women die while giving birth, a statistic brought home for Stachel when she attempted to complete a surgery by flashlight in Nigeria. This prompted her to develop a solution in the form of a solar suitcase. She tells host Peggy Wehmeyer how the suitcase works — and how it's helping save women's lives.
