For most of us, harsh winters are unpleasant, but almost never life-threatening. So Robert Young was shocked by a newspaper article he read while on a business trip to New Mexico. It described how several elderly people had frozen to death on a local Indian reservation.

The story turned the life of the successful Seattle businessman upside down. The result was Redfeather Development, an organization dedicated to helping Native American communities build better housing. Young speaks with our host, Peggy Wehmeyer.
