Sadie Babits/World Vision Report
The Bantu people have brought a bit of Somalia to Idaho by planting African corn alongside tomatoes and pumpkins. Sadie Babits/World Vision Report
Description

Members of the Somali Bantu community have transplanted a bit of Somalia to a three-acre farm in Boise, Idaho. The land was donated by a couple of landowners when they noticed Somalis growing vegetables on a tiny plot of land. Anyone who works on the farm can eat the produce grown there, and the rest is sold at the local farmers market. No one gets rich off the farm, but for hundreds of refugees, it's a link to their culture back in Somalia.

Sadie Babits reports.
