Musicians Alberto Gil and Cory Wong make music together.
Description
Afro-Peruvian music arose from the legacy of slaves brought to Peru by the Spanish in the 1500s. In the spring of 2010, Minneapolis musician Cory Wong traveled to Peru in search of the musicians who continue to make this music. He returned with a collection of songs, played not on a formal stage, but where the musicians live and gather. The result is the CD “Peña,” and Cory Wong joined the World Vision Report to discuss it.
