Cow PeopleWill Everett / World Vision Report
A Senegalese herder is shown with a crossbred calf, the result of a program that is increasing milk production for Senegalese ranchers.
Description
Known for their hardiness, Zebu cows sustain rural tribes in Senegal — but these cows don't produce much milk in the dry season. That's why an American working with the cow-herding Fulani tribe decided to play matchmaker with the Zebu female cows and a Holstein bull. The locals are milking the results.
