Description

The ongoing farm invasions by supporters of Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe have not just caused white farmers to lose their farms, but black farmworkers to lose their jobs too.

Before the country's so-called "land reform" started in 2000, agriculture was Zimbabwe's biggest employer. But because the new farm owners could not maintain production, many farm workers were laid off and are now destitute. Others were seen as too close to their former employees and were also chased off the farms.

Here's an account by a farmworker named Crispen, in his own words.
