The Music of Mexico CityGrant Fuller/World Vision Report
Organ grinder Pedro Pérez holds out his hand for tips while playing a rented street organ in downtown Mexico City.
Description
On the streets of Mexico City, there's an old-fashioned tradition that refuses to fade away. Since the early 1900s, Mexican men and women have stood on busy corners, playing music on street organs.
Today, many of the organs, some a century old, are falling apart. That's where Silvia Hernandez comes in. She's one of only a few people who can repair the ancient instruments.
Our Mexico correspondent, Grant Fuller, has her story.
