Description
In the traditional Muslim republic of Azerbaijan, girls are usually expected to become wives, mothers and homemakers. They're not encouraged to have careers. But a 16-year-old named Narmin has other aspirations. She wants to go to college and then become an ambassador for her country.
Aid worker Carla Seidl got to know Narmin while she was stationed in Azerbaijan with the Peace Corps. Here's Narmin, in her own words.
