Update From SwatRefugees at the Jellozai Camp in Peshawar. Photo by Alex Stonehill.
Description
The fighting between government forces and the Taliban continues in Pakistan's Swat Valley. More than two million people have been displaced from their homes there. Faris Kasim, who lives in Karachi, watched the news coverage of the displaced from his home. He was so upset by it that he decided to help out. He raised some money and, with a group of friends, put together hundreds of bags of food and medicine. They drove to villages just outside the Swat Valley where people are taking refuge -- and delivered the relief supplies.
Beverley Abel spoke to Faris on his cell phone, shortly after he returned to Karachi.
