Peace corps volunteer Kris Holloway moved to Mali, West Africa after college. That's where she met Monique, the village midwife, and the two women quickly became close friends.

Monique is the subject of Holloway's book, Monique and the Mango Rains. Holloway joins host Peggy Wehmeyer to talk about Monique's life.
