Enric Sifa began living on the streets of Rwanda at the age of nine, after losing most of his family in the 1994 genocide. Right before Enric's mother died, she urged him to keep on singing.

To date, Enric has written more than 60 songs, and has appeared on Rwandan television and radio. He's also toured the U.S. three times with his band, Hindurwa.

Enric talks to host Peggy Wehmeyer from his home in Portland, Oregon.
