Jacqueline Novogratz started her career as an investment banker, then flew off to Africa on an idealistic quest to change the world. Building on her experiences, in 2001 she founded the Acumen Fund. The fund turns charity on its head by investing millions of dollars in local entrepreneurs who are bringing products and services to the poor, including clean water, housing, and energy.

As she explains in her recent memoir, The Blue Sweater, Novogratz believes pioneering entrepreneurs will ultimately find solutions to global poverty. She speaks with host Peggy Wehmeyer.
